Purpose of This Reference
Records connected to a Hamilton County arrest can sit with different custodians. The Sheriff’s Office may hold a local booking record, the Hamilton County Jail can address a current-custody question, the courts keep the later case outcome, and the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision has a separate locator for people in state-sentenced custody. This site brings those official routes together in plain language. It does not copy booking photographs or present names as a gallery.
Information Available Here
The main reference pages explain the local systems that were located during research and the limits of those systems. Hamilton County does not currently present a public jail roster or routine booking feed on the official Sheriff’s Office page, so the practical path often starts with a call or a focused written request.
- Official routes for current custody, a past booking record, and a possible photo request.
- Hamilton County court and New York state custody resources that answer different questions.
- Town-specific routing for Indian Lake, Lake Pleasant, and Long Lake.
- Records-request fees and response considerations reported in the county’s Sheriff’s Office resolution.
Limits of Our Role
This is not a government office and has no affiliation with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Hamilton County Jail, New York courts, or DOCCS. It cannot confirm a person’s custody status, release a person, post bond, obtain sealed material, or issue a legal opinion. Addresses, fees, and agency practices can change, so the originating office remains the source to confirm before acting.
Only the agency holding a record or the court handling a case can provide an official answer about custody, a booking record, a release, or a disposition.
Search Partner Disclosure
Some pages include search tools supplied by outside providers. A provider may offer its own paid service, and a referral fee may be received when a visitor chooses that service. Those providers control their own pricing, results, and data practices. Their tools do not replace a request to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office or another official record custodian.
